#4.  What is the status of the Scenic Corridors? This article, based on a City of Scottsdale planning department report dated July 1999, lists the implementation status of each guideline. The members of the committee that drafted the guidelines insisted that the City specify an implementation date for each guideline. During the past 18 months, planners have provided verbal updates at the request of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission and little has changed in terms of status since this article was written. How does the $27 million dollar bond issue passed for Scottsdale Road enhancements related to the Scenic Corridor Guidelines and the Desert Foothills Scenic Drive?  In September 2000, Scottsdale voters passed a bond issue to be used to enhance Scottsdale Road.
