IT IS DONE. With
the help of the City of Scottsdale, the business community and hard-working
volunteers, our
project to paint all the “boxes” in the Scenic Drive’s utility
right-of-way has been completed!
That's right. All the utility boxes, cabinets, railings
and posts on Scottsdale Road from Happy Valley Road to Carefree Highway have
been painted so they will blend with the natural environment.
The dark brown/green color, selected by residents, was also used by the
City of Scottsdale to paint its railings and traffic signals along
the same stretch of road.
Thank you!
Friends of the Scenic Drive would like to thank the
following individuals and organizations for their contributions to the project:
·
Qwest, Southwest Gas, APS, Cox Communications and the City of
Scottsdale for their cooperation and permission to paint their assets
·
Kelly-Moore Paint Company and Bob Keitzman for donating the high-quality
paint used for the project
·
Friends volunteers - Horst Berkner, Les Conklin, Bob
and Robin Craig, Bob Miller, Carol and Howard Myers,
Tim Montgomery, and Tony Nelssen - for planning the project
and preparing the boxes for painting
