Note from Friends -

We urge you to attend this meeting, the last in a series of 3 meetings. Two of the sections of land (approximately 1300 acres) are west of Pima Road. One of these sections is on Scottsdale Road and marks the beginning of the Scenic Drive, the other is between Jomax and Dynamite. This is land that the city would like to include in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve but that the State Land Commissioner ruled was not suitable for conservation. That means the land must be planned and eventually auctioned off to the highest bidder by the State Land Department. A large developer has already indicated an interest in building houses on the parcel between Jomax and Happy Valley (where the Scenic Drive monument is and across the street from MacDonald's Ranch) and early plans are for part of this land that borders the Scenic Drive to be developed with more houses.   Is that you want?  More houses? More traffic? Or, open space that provides a link to the main part of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve? Make a point to attend the meeting, learn and express your opinion.
