Spectacular
Road Test
How many of
Arizona's spectacular scenic roads have you travelled?
The map identifies the location of some of the state's
unforgettable roads. To learn about a spectacular drive,
click on the map identifier or review
the table listing all the spectacular roads.
Reviewing the descriptions of these spectacular roads
emphasizes the great diversity of Arizona's landscape,
history and flora and fauna. Before you get into your car
and head for the nearest spectacular road, buy a copy of Scenic
Driving Arizona (formerly Arizona Scenic Drives),
by Stewart M. Green published by Falcon Press. Green
provides detailed descriptions and maps for most of the
scenic drives included in this quiz.
All the roads included in our quiz are
listed in the table below. "Map
Identification" can be used to locate the drive on
our map. Click on the "Name of the Scenic
Drive" and you will be taken to a brief description
of the drive. Arizona is a huge state and the
"Location" column divides the locations of the
drives into 3 very large areas.
"Northern" means the drive is north of I 40,
the interstate that cuts across Arizona and through
Flagstaff. "Southern" means the drive is
southeast, southwest or south of Phoenix. The roads in
between have been assigned "Central".
